Bob Valentine, South Bay Attorney & Community Leader, Announces Bid for State Senate Special Election

Manhattan Beach, CA – Bob Valentine declares his candidacy for the State Senate in the upcoming special election District 28. Valentine, a Republican, is a longtime Manhattan Beach resident and private attorney with law offices in the beach city and has been active for many years in South Bay business and civic affairs as well as being a leader in the area’s charitable nonprofit community.

“The message voters clearly sent to Sacramento in November was that they wanted smarter, more effective government that works within the limited means of our state’s fiscal constraints”, states Valentine. “I will go to Sacramento with years of experience not only in the private sector, but also with a solid background in promoting social service where the government has not been successful.”

Managing his own law office, Bob has produced realistic budgets, hired employees and met payrolls like other small business owners and through his law practice has helped others to do likewise. He is both fiscally conservative and socially concerned. “I believe I reflect the viewpoint of most Californians. People demand financial responsibility and care deeply about quality of life issues—what are the costs, where does the money come from and which ones do we pay for, are the difficult budgetary questions.”

Valentine served as a Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles Superior Court from 1988 to 2009. His political associations include the Log Cabin Republicans of Los Angeles, South Bay Lincoln Club and the Beach Cities Republican Club. He is most proud of his volunteer service as a 27-year member of the Board of Directors of The Beacon House Association of San Pedro—18 years as Board President. Beacon House is a residential facility for men seeking recovery from alcoholism and other drug addictions. Under Bob’s leadership, Beacon House has grown to be an eight building facility serving 120 men while maintaining a balanced budget.

Born and raised in upstate New York, Bob Valentine is a graduate of UCLA and received his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
